Final Revision, 26 April, 2008
1. Jake Long, Offensive Tackle, Michigan |
The Dolphins have already agreed to terms with Jake Long. The deal is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 years, 60 million, with 30 million gauranteed.

2. Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU |
From what I hear the coaches want Glenn Dorsey and the scouts think Chris Long is the better pick here. I personally believe that Chris Long would be a much better pick, but the coaches are probably going to get their way.
Previous Revision: Chris Long, DE, Virginia

|
3. Matt Ryan, Quarterback, Boston College |
The Falcons are probably going to be picking between Glenn Dorsey and Matt Ryan. Since Glenn Dorsey is off the board, the pick becomes easy. The may consider trading down once Glenn Dorsey is drafted, but I am not sure many teams will be that interested.
Previous Revision: Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU

4. Darren McFadden, Runningback, Arkansas |
|
The 4th overall selection should be either Darren McFadden or Vernon Gholston. Right now it looks like the Jets and Raiders are both thinking the same thing. There may be a point in which the Jets try to trade into this spot to get McFadden, but only if the really think the Raiders are going to take him. Al Davis really likes Gholston so he may decide to go that route. I personally believe the better selection would be McFadden. Even though he also does have a lot of bust potential, Gholston could end up being too much of a workout warrior and not a performer.

5. Chris Long, DE, Virginia |
|
The Chiefs now have a need for a Defensive End but also have the 17th overall selection. Chris Long is top three talent and there is no way Herm Edwards and the Chiefs will pass on him with the 5th overall selection.
Previous Revision: Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC |
|
6. Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State University |
|
This pick should be Gholston or McFadden. Either way I firmly believe that if the Rams don't take Gholston with the 2nd overall selection then Gholston and McFadden will go to the Raiders and the Jets.

7. Keith Rivers, Linebacker, USC (from 49ers) |
The Patriots should be picking betweend Leodis McKelvin and Keith Rivers. Both positions are in need of young talent so they should go with what they need the most. The Patriots are becoming ancient at Linebacker and their are other options at corner.
Previous Revision: Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy

|
8. Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy |
If the Ravens are not able to land Matt Ryan they should choose between an Offensive Lineman and a Cornerback. If this is the case they will likely be targeting Ryan Clady and Leodis McKelvin. McKelvin has sub par ball skills but his coverage ability is the best in this draft class. McKelvin will also contribute immediately as a return specialist.
Previous Revision: Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College |
|
9. Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC |
The biggest need for the Bengals is to upgrade the defense. They should be targeting either a Defensive Tackle or Keith Rivers, whichever one falls to them. In the event that both Defensive Tackles are off the board and Rivers and Clady are both gone as well, they may try to trade down with a team looking to take Branden Albert.
Previous Revision: Keith Rivers, Linebacker, USC |
|
10. Branden Albert, Offensive Guard, Virginia |
Branden Albert's stock is sky high for a Guard right now and the reason is because he can play Tackle as well. The Eagles would love to get him and may try to trade up with the Saints to take him.
